The design, which features an orange paint scheme with an orange ribbon, will debut at Richmond International Speedway on September 6. Gordon will also race the car again on September 21 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and September 28 at Dover. Lionel Racing proudly presents the die-cast of this special Gordon paint scheme. In 23 full-time seasons of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, Jeff Gordon has won at every track he's raced, with the exception of one. Of the 24 tracks at which he's visited Victory Lane, he's collected multiple wins at 19 of them. The first win at each track is a euphoric experience for any race car driver; it's like unlocking the track's secrets and discovering what it takes to be successful there. Now Lionel Racing celebrates one of the most important wins in Gordon's career with the first release in its new Jeff Gordon NASCAR Classics Collection – the 1995 DuPont Refinishes Darlington Raceway Win Chevrolet! Never before offered in die-cast form, this is the first in a series of Race Win cars that commemorates Gordon's early victories. Gordon has collected seven wins along with 23 top-10 finishes at the famed "Lady in Black." His first came on September 3, 1995, when he started the Mountain Dew Southern 500 on the inside of the third row – fifth position. Driving the No. 24 DuPont Refinishes Chevrolet, he didn't lead until the 208th lap of the 367- lap event. Two laps later he relinquished the lead, but found the front of the field three more times before the end of the day, including the final 35 circuits around the egg-shaped oval (a total of 54 laps led). Gordon made it to the finish line 0.66 seconds in front of the runner-up finisher. The win extended Gordon's lead in the standings by 41 points, a lead he would maintain for the final eight races of the season. Gordon fans across the country can now pre-order this never-before-offered NASCAR Classics die cast that replicates what his car looked like in Victory Lane 20 years ago, with all the scrapes and dents synonymous with a long, hard-fought fight to the finish line. Each die-cast comes in special NASCAR Classics packaging and includes a full-color collector card with Gordon's race stats.
Over the past 24 seasons, Jeff Gordon has picked up several nicknames, most noticeably "Rainbow Warrior" and "Wonder Boy," but on Sunday, September 27, the four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion earned a new moniker – "Iron Man." Gordon made his record-setting 789th consecutive start in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, breaking Ricky Rudd's record that has stood since 2005. During Gordon's streak, which began on November 15, 1992, he has amassed some impressive stats: four titles, 92 wins, 323 top five, 468 top 10s and 80 poles. Even more impressive though may be that he did all of this with one team – Hendricks Motorsports – and in one car – the No. 24 Chevrolet. And fans now have the opportunity to own a piece of history when they order a die-cast of Gordon's No. 24 AARP/Ride with Jeff/Iron Man Chevrolet that he drove in his record-breaking start. In commemoration of the streak, the roof number on each die-cast has been switched to "789.".
